The Ananse Project is an arts-based, technology and cultural exchange program which joins teenagers in the US and abroad.

Participants complete a digital storytelling course and create video stories about their lives and their communities, then exchange and discuss via the Web. The 2005 Ananse Project participants were high school and senior secondary school students in Accra, Ghana and Chicago, US.

The Ananse Project Chat about the participants' stories and cultures began August 25, 2005. Join our discussion!

The Ananse Project assists students in:

  • completing intellectually challenging, interactive Web videos
  • developing leadership, self-promotion & communication skills
  • exploring the role of technology in their lives
  • applying creative, critical & technical abilities simultaneously
  • deepening their understanding of our multicultural world
